We started Gridline because we saw too many small businesses stuck with outdated, overpriced POS systems that could not keep up. We believe every restaurant, cafe, salon, and retailer in Canada deserves modern tools — without the enterprise price tag.
Our Story
Gridline was born in 2024 in Toronto, when our founders watched a local cafe lose an afternoon of sales because their legacy POS went offline during a payment processor outage. The system had no offline mode, no local backup, and no way to recover.
That should not happen in 2024. So we built something better: a POS that works offline by default, includes loyalty and analytics at no extra cost, and runs on hardware you already own.
Today, Gridline serves businesses across Canada — from single-location cafes to multi-site restaurant groups. We are growing fast, but our mission remains the same: give independent businesses the same tools that enterprise chains take for granted.
